Junior Youth Training 2013



Arrived at Wong Hong Barbell Club at 1.30 p.m and graced by Miss Momo herself. It was a blistering day and the sun was punishing me with the much needed Vitamin D.

While waiting upon the arrival of the participants, I did the usual. Sneaked and snapped the arena of fitness, wellness and muscles; Wong's Barbell Club. It is equipped with the pseudo machines like the cycling apparatus and treadmills for club members' warm ups before hitting upon their designated exercises and weights. There is also a bar specially for concocting healthy shakes for gym members to gain their daily dose of nutrients before and after their workouts.

One of the most captivating moments while wandering around the vast gym; is Wong Hong's trophy trove. I was immediately mesmerized. My camera could not stop its snapping rhythm.I tried to capture each achievement of Wong Sifu in its prowess. As I worked my way through each trophies, I realized that the trophies that come in an array of different shapes and sizes are not only a replica of attained success. But it is a true potrayal of sweat, blood and perseverance which has earned Wong Sifu his Mr. Asia title twice amongst many others. A true insignia for motivation making me believe "Nothing is Impossible!!!"

Time strikes 2.30 pm when all the Youth Training participants from all wakes and races arrive in unison to grace the much looked forward event. Wong Sifu addressed the crowd, delivering a detailed outlay for the training.










The training kicks off with Wong Sifu showing the participants the proper way of bench press. He is particular about positioning, the proper way of handling the weights and breathing measures. It is a complete package.You want to do things the right way to properly develop the desired muscles not the 'gung ho' manner where it may cause undesired injuries. 











As Wong Sifu takes them through the lateral press, lower chest, shoulder, traps, back and lower back. Wong sifu is there every step of the way, guiding, and encouraging everyone to try out in order to have a feel and understand the proper method of training. Wong Sifu is always there as well to spot and ensure that there will be 0 injuries in his gym.
















After a group photo session, we proceeded below for the legs training. I was amazed at the contraption named Hammer Strength. Not many gyms in Malaysia actually have this amazing piece of equipment; where it can be classified as somewhat elusive. Wong sifu must have put in a lot of thought to have this machine installed for maximized training. 





What is Hammer Strength? A brief explanation for you all kind and eager readers.Hammer Strength's plate-loaded machines are designed for users to load or unload the machine with plates of varying weights. Many prefer to use these machines for safety reasons; there is a level of control over the weight that is lessened when working with free weights. In many gyms, machine users are perceived with a stigma by exercisers who favor free weights and believe that such training produces superior results. Loading machines with plates, a form of free weights, helps machine users to exercise in a more comfortable setting.








The product line encompasses a multitude of exercise needs. There are upper body, lower-body/torso, and ground base machines; these cover exercises for raises, biceps, dips, adductors/abductors, leg curls, extensions and presses, calf raises and curls, and squat lunges and pulls, among others. Wong sifu graced all the participants and myself with the squat demonstration of a proper squat; a leg muscle training where one utilizes the strength of his or her legs to push the shouldered weight back up. The last demo of the Hammer strength is Wong Sifu perched on it for an all round Q & A session. 












Lastly, every participant gets to have their choice of 2 designs of Wong Hong's 2013 calender autographed. I am honored to be there to capture the smiles of satisfaction from all the participants and never to miss the smiles of Miss Momo who is there every step of the training. Behind every successful man, there has to be a woman who has his back covered. Momo and wong sifu, you are both meant for each other.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my first ever collaborated event with Miss Momo and wong Hong. It is an honor to represent and cover the event for wellness and health. My utmost gratitude for the confidence and granted opportunity. 2013 did kick off positively. Wishing Miss Momo and wong Hong all the very best in their upcoming events and looking at their determination and perseverance and passion, the titles are as good as theirs. Gambate!!
